One of the key priorities of the MWA is to safeguard the MEXICAN Whisky category and prevent unfair competition.
We also aim to secure a quality definition of ‘whisky’ in our main export markets.
The Legal Affairs Department with several lawyers, is primarily responsible for the protection of the Mexican Whisky trade.
The MWA’s role is to advance the global interests and profile of Mexican Whisky, our members and of the industry as a whole.
By building strong relationships with all levels of government and opinion-formers and by making a visible impact on public debate we will:
· Be a trusted voice in the debate on alcohol and society
· Support a competitive, sustainable and fairly taxed industry
· Safeguard the Mexican Whisky category
· Ensure fair access to all markets worldwide.
We see the Mexican whisky industry as a significant Mexican economic and cultural asset that boosts growth and jobs, that strongly supports the communities with which we work, and that combines the very best of the traditional and the modern.
The MWA can trace its origins back to 2010.
